To demonstrate leadership Ireland must increase it’s trade and investment Partnership with Africa significantly. Ireland’s record of excellence in trade growth now needs  to be matched by it’s trade growth with Europe’s nearest neighbour. The influential role of Irish experts and Ireland’s influence on the EU Commission are a very promising start to what could be a leading role for Ireland in fostering EU-Africa partnership. But it must be matched by real progress in trade and investment by Irish companies.
